Texas attorney under fire for racist comment on abandoned Tesla engineer’s LinkedIn post
Charlie Liu quit his old job after receiving and signing a letter of offer for Tesla earlier this year.
But due to a strange series of events Liu recounted after he was hired – which started with a delayed start date and ended with the company telling him “the position is no longer needed” – he said he was in the rain and out confessed a profession.
He brought his experience with Tesla to LinkedIn, where his story received more than 50,000 reactions and 3,000 comments within a week of sharing.
“How can a company, especially a big company like Tesla, play with our lives like that?” He said in the Post. “If someone from Tesla wants to reach me and tell me how in the world this is ethical, I’d love to hear it.”
But a comment on the post sparked criticism on social media. Kiran Joshi, an attorney for the Texas-based law firm Thomas J. Henry Law, commented, “Hey Charlie, the Wuhan Lab may become vacant,” Joshi commented, “good luck.”

Wuhan has re-entered the news after President Joe Biden ordered further intelligence reports on the origins of COVID-19.
Joshi’s LinkedIn account has been cleaned up since Tuesday morning.
“I don’t know why Kiran Joshi decided to comment on this s-t,” said Nicole Hu, a travel influencer who shared his comment on TikTok. “But that’s the kind of racism and sinophobia that Asians, and especially the Chinese, see every day now.”
Since then, other posts have surfaced on TikTok confronting Joshi for his remarks, and many of the comments have shouted out to his employer. Henry Law did not immediately respond to a request for comment from SFGATE.
Tesla did not comment due to the lack of a PR department.
