New York Personal Injury Attorney Used Previous Challenges To Circumnavigate COVID-19 Challenges
Business as usual is a challenge for most companies these days. Nicholas Timko explains how law firms adapt to keep their employees and customers safe.
Case Engine, the leading provider of specialist digital marketing services for lawyers, is currently surveying law firms across the country to find out how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their businesses and what steps these companies have taken to keep theirs growing Companies. This type of cutting edge research and analysis is one of the many tools Case Engine uses to ensure they stay at the forefront of the industry, understand their clients’ problems, and develop strategies to resolve those issues.
You recently interviewed Nicholas Timko of Kahn Gordon Timko & Rodriques, PC in New York; the company was far more technologically advanced than many law firms, as their original offices were only a few hundred yards from the World Trade Center. After September 11th, the company had essentially no office for two years and needed to act quickly to serve its customers and ensure their business survived. This knowledge and expertise helped them cope with the pandemic and keep working with minimal interruptions.
Speaking of the pandemic, Nicholas said, “We have all prepared for remote work. We used our Voice over IP company which has an app on the phone. Personally, I already had this app because I don’t want to call customers on my mobile phone in court. I call from the app, it shows the office, we just downloaded the app for everyone and got it ready. With regard to operation, logging in, we made a start, so to speak, everyone had to log into the central system. We’ve been scanning everything we have in our case management system since September 11th. When we started doing this, although we had paper files, we had done a lot of things remotely. As for the infrastructure, we just had to set up all the employees. One of the things that I think helped us survive, I wouldn’t say it was successful because I believe that no one was really successful without a judicial system that I asked my calendar writer, other lawyers for our cases to find. Basically, I said, go on every case we have, look up the filing system to see who the defense attorneys are, and just email them, hey, do we have a statement? Can we do this remotely? Send 50 emails, you will get 15 or 20 positive responses. The people on the other side, like us, have to bill for a few hours. And so we as a company survived the pandemic restrictions. ”
This shows the growing importance of technology in the legal industry. Going forward, the businesses that will survive and thrive will need to be proficient with technology, marketing online, and improving how they communicate with their customers. These are the areas Engine specializes in and explain why they are one of the fastest growing digital marketing companies in the United States today.
