According to the verdict jury reporter, the $ 15.2 million Judgment is higher than any other Illinois Judgment or settlement previously reported for a back injury without paralysis or other significant injuries. Hafezi said one of the defense witnesses, a neurologist, testified in court that Smith had just one muscle sprain that would likely resolve on its own in a few weeks or months.
