Jackson County state’s attorney offering amnesty for outstanding traffic warrants | Crime/Courts

Here’s How the Program Will Work: Under the Jackson County Warrant Amnesty Initiative, a defendant can video-call with Zoom on February 11 or March 11 at 9:00 a.m. asking the court to overturn or overturn his pending warrant. The press release states that the prosecutor will not object to the request.

The court will overturn the warrant and reschedule the case for a future court date without the need for a loan or other fee. Assistant State attorneys and assistant attorneys will attend the Zoom calls to assist the defendants in releasing their license suspensions or revocations.

All traffic certificates can be canceled, it said. Warrants for $ 5,000 or less will be removed from the system and new court dates will be posted. $ 5,000 bank orders and cases of DUI leaving the scene of the accident where there is an injury or reckless driving will be held for a hearing in front of the judge to overturn the warrant. For more information, contact the Jackson County Attorney at 618-687-7200.

The cases are processed through a remote video court. Those interested in participating in the program must access the Zoom court session by visiting the Jackson County Circuit Clerk’s Circuit Clerk.co.jackson.il.us/videocourt website. Participants should then click on Judge God’s courtroom.
