Fort Worth Attorney Seth McCloskey Receives Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law
FORT WORTH, Texas, August 3, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Seth McCloskey, a personal injury attorney with the law firms of Steven C. Laird PC., recently received board certification in personal injury litigation law from the Texas Specialized judge. He also holds national certification in truck accident law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a designation he shares with the company’s founder Steven C. Laird. Together, the attorneys are only two out of every 10 attorneys in the state Texas to specialize in this area of law.
To earn board certification, an attorney must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of their practice to a specialty for at least three years, attend training seminars, pass an assessment by other lawyers and judges, and pass a six-year exam-hour of written Test.
“When a client is seeking representation, they are looking for someone who has a solid understanding of a particular area law. Seth is an attorney who has and continues to demonstrate that expertise to his clients,” said Mr. Laird. “His specialist lawyer for personal injury law now places him in a respected group of lawyers who have achieved this elite recognition. We congratulate him on this great achievement.”
Prior to joining Laird, Mr. McCloskey served as a crime attorney in the Ellis County and District Attorney’s offices. He later went into business for himself, representing individuals and families in cases of serious injury or death. His extensive experience in truck accident law also enables him to speak regularly at industry and legal specialist events across the country.
Mr. McCloskey is a member of the National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40”. In 2019 and 2020, he was named to the list of Texas Rising Stars by Thomson Reuters. He obtained his law degree from Toledo University and is a graduate of the Stephen F. Austin State University.
“This is a personal milestone,” said McCloskey. “Certification by the board of directors ensures that our customers know that they are receiving the best possible legal representation, be it in the event of a truck accident or other serious injury.”
Board certification is offered in 21 specific legal areas. The initial certification is valid for five years. To remain licensed attorneys and paralegals, they must apply for recertification every five years and meet the essential participation, assessment and legal training requirements for their area of expertise.
